Following the success of all previous workshops, Language Pride ITS, is honoured to announce in hosting – in collaboration with Zakon Training – will be running next Police Interview workshop, the latest in our series of workshops at the Northern Design Centre in Gateshead on 09 March 2019.
Whilst we have aimed the workshop at interpreters (both spoken and sign language), as we are dealing with the police investigative interview, the lessons learned are equally valid for those working with other investigative agencies.
The day, which includes inputs on both witness and suspect interviews, will finish with an interactive practical exercise covering topical issues drawn from live cases. This fully packed day will include time to network and will be facilitated by experienced police trained advanced interviewers with particular experience of working with interpreters.
The day is also relevant to other professionals who may be involved in investigations (e.g. appropriate adults, social workers, court interpreters).
The day includes a full and comprehensive catering package with accommodation available nearby at an extra charge.
Certificates for CPD will be provided.
The day offers outstanding value at £120, fully inclusive of food and beverages
March exclusive price is just £96 if booked by the 5th March on a
strictly first come, first served basis
It is advisable to attend our Interpreting Police Interview Effectively Workshop but not essential and our workshops are suitable for experienced interpreters, those just starting out, students or those with an interest in some alternative CPD. We enjoy a mix of both BSL and spoken language interpreters, the skills are very different but the law isn’t and this dynamic makes for some great debates. Our days are also excellent for meeting other like minded professionals, many professional relationships have been formed during our workshops.
